Risk for water shortage - Groundwater and watercourses
Message
SMHI, Sweden's national weather service, issues warnings county by county. This page reads the one for Skåne, the county Lund sits in, and shows the wind in central Lund right now beside it. A warning for Skåne can be about the coast or the far end of the county rather than your street, so the text of each warning says where it applies.
SMHI has a warning in force for Skåne County

Risk for water shortage - Groundwater and watercourses
Low groundwater levels. Low flows in rivers Rönne å, Kävlingeån with tributaries, Almaån, Holjeån and in sensitive watercourses in the eastern and southern parts of the county.
What to do
Users of municipal water should be aware that the municipality may impose restrictions and encourage water-saving measures.
Those receiving water from private or shared wells should be considerate of their water consumption, as low groundwater levels may reduce abstraction capacity and deteriorate water quality.
Businesses and households with private water from lakes or rivers should be aware that low water levels may limit the amount of water withdrawn and degrade water quality.
Low water levels may have a negative impact on plant and animal life in agriculture and in nature.

If something serious is happening
This page reads SMHI's national warnings feed, refreshed automatically. For a power cut, check Kraftringen's outage page below; for a genuine emergency, call 112. Sweden's VMA system (Viktigt meddelande till allmänheten) sounds an alarm signal and a radio and TV announcement for the most serious events, separate from anything on this page.

Worth knowing
Why this matters on a bike
Lund is a compact city that people cross by bike all year, on a flat plain with little shelter from wind. A wind, rain or ice warning for Skåne is the cue to leave earlier or take the bus that day.
