Linköping has three återvinningscentraler, and for a household in the kommun all three are free — the visits are already paid for in your avfallstaxa. They are staffed, so if you cannot work out which container something belongs in, you can ask. Vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes only, no tractors and no lorries; and a light van registered to a company has to be booked in at least 12 hours ahead, even when a private person is driving it.
Sort at home before you set off and load the car in the order you mean to empty it — last in, first out. Each centre also has a återbrukshall, open the same hours, where whole and clean things go on to Myrorna, Hjärta till hjärta, Stadsmissionen and Hjälpverksamheten Återvinningen instead of into a container. Books go in whatever condition they are in, and sports gear goes to Fritidsbanken. What belongs in your own two bins at home is a different question, and the bin sorter on this site answers it.
