SMHI has a warning in force for Östergötland County

Message

Risk for water shortage - Groundwater and watercourses

Low groundwater levels. Low flows in rivers Backaån, Igelforsån, Börgölsån and Lotorpsån, and in Gusumsån, Färgeboån/Byngsboån, Hällaån, Storån, Vindån, Svartån, och Stångån.

What to do

Users of municipal water should be aware that the municipality may impose restrictions and encourage water-saving measures. Those receiving water from private or shared wells should be considerate of their water consumption, as low groundwater levels may reduce abstraction capacity and deteriorate water quality. Low water levels may have a negative impact on plant and animal life in agriculture and in nature. Businesses and households with private water from lakes or rivers should be aware that low water levels may limit the amount of water withdrawn and degrade water quality.

Valid from: Tue, 7 July at 0:00
Area: Östergötland County
