Worth knowing

Fiona is the storm this end of the Island measures others against

In September 2022 post-tropical storm Fiona left roughly 95% of Prince Edward Island without power, and some areas waited close to 26 days to get it back. For a scattering of farms on Route 182 with no council of its own, that is the reason a wind warning is worth reading rather than skipping.

Nobody ploughs Norway Road early

The province maintains all the roads here — Norway is unincorporated, so there is no municipal plough. Only Route 1 and Route 2 get round-the-clock service during a snowfall; everything else is cleared on a rotating schedule, and most plough routes take three to four hours to complete. Norway Road is Route 182, which is in the second group.

A quiet page is the normal state

Most days there is no warning for Prince County, and this page will say so plainly. That is the feed working, not the feed broken.
