Town Tools builds free, public tools for Norway and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.

Norway is a farming settlement in Lot 1, at the island's north-west tip, about 6 km from Tignish — and residents' postal addresses read Tignish. Maritime Electric lists its outages by community rather than by address, so a fault here can appear under a neighbouring community's name, or only as an area on the utility's own map. Both are shown below. After Hurricane Fiona in September 2022 roughly 95% of Prince Edward Island was without power and parts of the island waited close to 26 days, so an outage out here is worth a plan rather than a wait.
Right now
Nothing is listed for Norway
Maritime Electric is not listing any outage here at the moment.
Read from Maritime Electric
Maritime Electric reports no customers out anywhere on its network right now. Their own list is stamped Oct 16 2026 06:00 AM.
A fallen wire is an emergency
Maritime Electric's own instruction: if you see a downed power line, stay at least 30 metres away, warn others to do the same, call 911, and then call Maritime Electric at 1-800-670-1012. Treat anything touching the line — a tree, a fence, a vehicle — as live.
This page only shows what Maritime Electric already knows about. A fault nobody has reported yet does not appear here, and neither does anything on your own side of the meter — a tripped switch, a blown fuse, a problem in one house. If Norway is dark and this page is quiet, that is a reason to ring it in, not a reason to wait.
Maritime Electric — report an outage
The line is answered 24/7 for outages. There is also an online outage report, which needs the 16-digit account number from your bill.
If someone in the house needs power for medical equipment
Maritime Electric keeps no life-support register, so there is nothing to join. What it asks instead is that you ring and say so if someone in the house uses life support or needs an essential service such as oxygen. Nothing it publishes promises priority restoration, so the plan matters as much as the call: a battery or a generator that will carry the equipment, and somewhere to go if the power stays off for days.
Maritime Electric — tell them before the next outage
Keep a backup power plan — a generator or a battery that will carry the equipment. Maritime Electric says hospitals are exempt from rotating outages and that residential customers should prepare for interruptions anyway. In a declared emergency PEI EMO may open reception centres and lists them as they open. In an emergency, call 911.
Prince is the westernmost of the island's three counties; the other two are Queens and Kings. West Prince, the end of the county Norway sits in, is roughly 30 km across, which is why a line section listed anywhere in it is close enough to matter here.
