These are neighbours, not an official service. Live closures and incidents are here: PEI Department of Transportation and Infrastructure — winter road maintenance — The Island's Trans-Canada and Veteran's Memorial Highway (Routes 1 and 2) get round-the-clock service during a snowfall. Everything else, including Route 182, is cleared on a rotating schedule — most routes take three to four hours to reach once a route's turn comes, and there is no local government here to publish which routes have been done.

How this works

Each report counts for about 12 hours, then drops off on its own. A road shows once at least 1 recent report is in; when several are in we show the middle one, so a single voice can’t swing it.
