Where York's buses are right now, read from the operators' own live tracking feed every minute or so, and described in plain words: how far out, which side of town, and heading which way.
Two things to be straight about. An empty card does not mean your bus is cancelled — it means no vehicle on that route is reporting to the feed at this moment, which is normal between journeys and overnight. York has no public cancellation feed. Operators report cancellations into a system run for the West Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and City of York authorities, and it publishes nothing we can read, so nothing on this page can tell you a journey has been dropped. For that, First Bus York's service updates page is still the place to look.
Other operators run into York too — they are listed at the bottom with their timetables.
And the train
York station is a principal East Coast Main Line junction, and for a lot of journeys out of the city it beats the bus comfortably — Leeds, Doncaster, Darlington, Scarborough and Hull are all direct.
The station sits just outside the walls off Station Road, which is inside the Park & Ride catchment: the U1 and U2 call there, and the last Park & Ride bus back out of the centre leaves around 22:30.
