The Boka's year turns on a handful of days everyone here knows — the patron saint's feast in winter, the boat processions of high summer, the carnival masks. This is what comes around, in the order it comes, with what to know before you go. Exact hours and each year's programme come from the organisers, linked below.

Bokeljska noć — Boka Night
Second half of August 2026 · Kulturni centar Kotor
exact dates vary — confirm before you go
A night parade of decorated, illuminated boats through the water in front of the Old Town walls, with music and fireworks — the bay's signature summer night, going back to a 19th-century Venetian-style fête organised by the Kotor singing society Jedinstvo.
The single busiest night of the Kotor summer; the waterfront fills early and parking is gone by evening.
Wednesday, 3 February 2027 · St Tryphon's Cathedral · Bokeljska mornarica
The feast of Sveti Tripun, Kotor's patron saint, kept at St Tryphon's Cathedral since the ninth century. The Bokeljska mornarica — the Boka Navy brotherhood, on UNESCO's list of intangible heritage — dances its ceremonial kolo before the cathedral in full dress uniform.
The biggest day in the Catholic Boka's year; the Old Town is busy and some streets around the cathedral are given over to the procession.
February 2027 · Kulturni centar Kotor
exact dates vary — confirm before you go
Masked parades and street events in the Venetian-rooted Bokelji carnival tradition, run through the cultural centre and local associations. The dates shift each year with the pre-Lenten calendar.
July–August 2027 · KotorArt
exact dates vary — confirm before you go
Kotor's summer arts festival: Don Branko's Music Days (classical concerts in the Old Town's churches and squares), theatre, and children's programmes across several weeks of high summer.
Thursday, 22 July 2027 · Perast · Our Lady of the Rocks
On the evening of 22 July a procession of decorated boats rows out from Perast carrying stones to Gospa od Škrpjela (Our Lady of the Rocks), keeping up the 15th-century tradition of building the man-made islet. The Fašinada Cup regatta sails alongside it.
It happens up the bay in Perast, not in Kotor town — an evening event on the water, best seen from the Perast waterfront.
How these dates work
Fixed dates — feast days, holidays — recur every year and are worked out forward from today, so this stays right without updates. Dates marked as approximate move year to year. The exact hours, and whether an event runs at all in a given year, are set by the host: confirm with them before you set out.
