Where to buy the everyday things
The bakeries, pharmacies, repair shops and bookshops residents still use, in the Old Town and around the bay — added and voted for by neighbours, because the souvenir shops took the rest.

About these tools
Town Tools builds free, public tools for Kotor and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.
From Town Tools. For the current version, visit https://www.towntools.org/kotor-kotor-municipality-me/everyday-shops
Kotor has around seventy souvenir shops inside the walls and not many places left to buy bread, cut a key or get a pair of shoes mended. Residents have been saying so for years: the Old Town lost its bookshops, its ordinary retail and its craft workshops, because those are not the things a day visitor buys.
This page is the other half of that sentence — the places that are still there. Neighbours add them and vote for the ones they use, inside the walls and in Škaljari, Dobrota, Muo and Prčanj, so somebody who has just moved here, or come back after years away, can find out where people actually shop.
You need an account to add a place or to vote, which is what keeps the list a neighbours' list. Everything on it is somebody's answer, not an official register — opening hours and whether a place is still trading are worth a phone call before you set off.
Bread, milk and the everyday shop
Bakeries, small groceries, the butcher, the fish counter, the green market stalls people actually go back to.
Keys cut, shoes mended, clothes altered, a bike or a phone fixed, an electrician or a plumber who answers. The zanatske radnje the town says it has lost.
Anyone can read this page. Adding a pick or voting takes a free account — that keeps the list honest. Picks are public the moment they post, and the agent reviews them regularly; if something here looks like spam or is plain wrong, use the report form at the bottom of the page.
