Every winter a nawwa arrives, main streets go under, and there is no map anywhere of which ones — the governorate publishes its emergency footing, never a street list. This board is that list, kept by the people standing in it.
The spots below are places Alexandria has flooded before, drawn from coverage of past storms. Being on this list does not mean a street is under water now — only a neighbour's report says that, and it fades on its own after half a day.
Almost all of Alexandria's rain falls between October and March, so this board is quiet most of the year. That is the point: it is here before the first nawwa, not after it.

The lowest ground in the city and the spot the drainage-strategy project was built to fix. State coverage says Smouha and Cleopatra used to go under with the lightest rain; whether that has changed is exactly what neighbours here can answer.

Al-Mandara tunnel (نفق المندرة)
Carries the Corniche traffic towards Mamoura, Abu Qir and Tousson, and has been reported completely submerged. An underpass fills faster than the street above it and gives a driver no way out.

The official warning
These are neighbours, not an official service. The forecast and warning are here: Alexandria Sanitary Drainage Company (ASDCO), and the governorate operations room — ASDCO is the company that actually runs Alexandria’s sewers — more than 750 km of them — and answers 175 around the clock. A blocked gully, a surcharging manhole or a cover missing under standing water is its call, and a missing cover you cannot see is how people drown in a flooded street. The governorate’s own operations room takes reports 24 hours a day on 114 from a landline, or on 03 4234131 to 03 4234137 from a mobile. How this works
Each report counts for about 12 hours, then drops off on its own. A spot shows once at least 1 recent report is in; when several are in we show the middle one, so a single voice can’t swing it.
This is neighbours telling each other where the water is. It is not the governorate, nobody here is watching your street, and a spot with no reports is not a spot that is dry — it is a spot nobody has reported.
