Growers and neighbours are starting to report frost — tap to see.
On a clear, still night between December and February, frost settles in the hollows and grasslands of the plateau and leaves the slopes above them alone. It is the low ground — Kandal, Thalaikundha, the Kuthirapanthaya ground — where carrots and tea flush are burnt.
A forecast reads one point on the map. Growers know their own cold corners, and they find out each morning by going to look. If you have been out at first light, tap the place and say what you found. Reports drop off by the afternoon, so the board always shows this morning.

The official weather source
These are growers and neighbours who went and looked, not a measurement and not an official service. The forecast and any cold-wave warnings are here: India Meteorological Department, Regional Meteorological Centre Chennai — The official forecasts and any cold-wave warning for Tamil Nadu. Nobody official measures frost field by field on the plateau.
How this works
Each report counts for about 10 hours, then drops off on its own — frost is gone by mid-morning, so yesterday’s never hangs over today. A place shows once at least 1 recent report is in; when several are in we show the middle one, so a single voice can’t swing it.
If frost has damaged your crop
After the December 2025 frost, small growers took their losses to the Tea Board and the district administration. A report on this board is dated, but it is not a claim and no office reads it — note the date and the place yourself, and take photographs on the morning.
These are reports from signed-in growers and neighbours, not a measurement and not an official service. A place with no reports is not a place with no frost — it is a place nobody has reported yet.
