This is the tide, not the Moskstraumen
The maelstrom off Lofotodden is a tidal current running between Moskenesøya and Værøy, and its strength is not the same thing as the height of the water at the quay. Nothing on this page tells you when the straum is running, how hard, or whether it is crossable. That is a question for a local skipper and the Kystverket charts, not for a tide table.
Wind and pressure move the real water level
These are astronomical predictions: they assume no weather. A hard southwesterly and low pressure can push the sea well above the predicted high, which is how a quay floods on a day the table says is unremarkable. Kartverket's own Se havnivå service publishes the measured level and the storm-surge warning; check it before a storm, not this.
The passenger boat runs to timetable, not to the tide
The little boat across the Reinefjord to Vindstad, Kjerkfjord and Rostad sails on its published schedule — see Next Departures. The tide matters for what you meet at the other end: the landings are simple quays, and at low water it is a longer climb with a pack.

Heights are above chart datum (sjøkartnull, the lowest astronomical tide) — roughly the lowest the tide ever falls — not above the quay or the rocks. Times are local (GMT+2). Kartverket has no gauge in Reine. It derives the prediction for this point from its nearest permanent water-level station and names that station on the page, along with the time shift and height factor it applied. Heights are metres above sjøkartnull, the Norwegian chart datum, so the numbers are always positive.
Predictions, not measurements
These are astronomical tide predictions. Wind, air pressure and storm surge can push the real water level well above or below them — in bad weather, check the Meteorologisk institutt forecast and warnings at yr.no before trusting a number here.
