Munnar's roads change with the rain, and nothing publishes which stretch is moving right now. This board is neighbours and drivers telling each other. If you have just come down one of these roads, tap it and say what you found — clear, slow going, or blocked. Reports fade off the board after six hours, so what you see here is from this morning or this afternoon, not last week.
Two official positions stand behind it. On 1 August 2026 the District Collector banned night travel on the district's hill roads from 7 pm to 6 am while the red alert lasts, asked people to avoid non-essential travel into Idukki, and told tourists already here to stay put. And the last confirmed word on the National Highway through town is still 9 July 2026: traffic partially restored after the landslide near the CSI church, a one-way loop in force, the administration saying the risk persists. Nothing since has been published either way. That gap is exactly why this board exists — and why it can never replace the District Collector's word.

NH-85 Gap Road (Devikulam → Poopara → Bodimettu)
The climb east toward Theni and Tamil Nadu. A 13 km stretch of it was closed for repairs after a mudslide in May 2025, and night travel here has been banned in past monsoons.
