Caste, community, income, nativity and possession certificates: the documents each one asks for, which office it goes to, what it should cost, the gazetted time limit — and your right of appeal when it is late or refused.
Families who have worked these estates since the 1880s still get asked to prove they belong here. The certificates that do it — caste, community, income, nativity, possession — are applied for at the village office or through an Akshaya centre, and the rules about what they cost and how long they should take are published, just not anywhere you would find them.
This page gathers them: the papers each one asks for, which office it goes to, what it should cost, the time limit the state gazetted for it, and what to do when it is late or refused. That last part is a right written into law, and almost nobody is told about it.
