Mahone Bay has no hospital of its own. The nearest emergency room is at Fishermen's Memorial in Lunenburg, about ten minutes down the road — and it does not run around the clock. It is posted as open 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day, but through the summer especially those hours are cut back or the department closes for a few days at a time, and the change is announced only on Nova Scotia Health's provincial notice board.
This page reads that board and holds it against the posted hours, so the answer at the top is today's answer, not the timetable's. When Lunenburg is shut or shortened, the 24-hour emergency department at South Shore Regional in Bridgewater is about twenty minutes further on, and virtual urgent care runs at Fishermen's Memorial itself even on days the emergency department is closed.
Virtual urgent care today
Open now · 8 am – 7 pm
Runs onsite at Fishermen's Memorial in Lunenburg, every day, even when the emergency department is closed — you go to the hospital and see an emergency doctor or nurse practitioner by video, with staff there with you. Walk in; there is nothing to book. It is for urgent but not life-threatening things — a cough that won't shift, a sore throat, a urinary infection, a minor skin problem. Hours can be cut back at short notice like the emergency department's, so check the notices above before you set off.

Posted hours are the plan; the notices are what is actually happening. Nova Scotia Health updates its board through the day and this page re-reads it every fifteen minutes, but a change made minutes ago may not have reached either. If it matters, phone the hospital on 902-634-4286 before you drive.
