units (WAF bills in units: 1 unit = 1 m³ = 1,000 litres)
≈ 45,000 litres
On a WAF statement, box 2 (Meter Reading) shows your previous reading, your current reading and the units used between them. Use the Units figure.
Water is your metered usage at the rates above. There is no standing charge on top of it.
WAF charges the waste water line on every unit your meter records, at a flat $0.20 a unit.
Water Authority of Fiji (WAF) bills every three months. Type the units from the Meter Reading box on your bill (1 unit is 1,000 litres) and this page works out the bill at WAF's published domestic rates, including the free first 23 units if your household is on the Free Water Scheme.
An estimate, not your bill
This is a guide, not your actual bill. Real bills depend on your meter size, your exact metered use, and any adjustments or programs you qualify for. Check your bill, or ask whoever bills you, for the exact figures.
Worth knowing
How to apply for the free water allowance
Take these to a WAF customer service centre: a statutory declaration, the WAF customer information form, valid photo ID, your TIN letter or joint FNPF/FIRCA card, your latest payslip, and the Free Water Usage Allowance application form. WAF's call centre is 334 6777, or 5777 from any mobile.
Why this may differ from WAF's own online calculator by a few cents
WAF's online calculator adds $7.67 for the first 50 units of a bill above 100 units. The rate card and WAF's own sample statement both give $7.65 (50 × $0.153), which is what this page uses.
Most homes in Fiji pay about 15 cents per 1,000 litres, one of the lowest water prices in the Pacific. Since the Government decided in 2024 to turn WAF into a company, the Fijian Competition and Consumer Commission has said tariffs may move towards covering the full cost of supply, after consultation. No date has been set and WAF's rate card has not changed; this page will be updated when it does.
