Got an idea for a new tool? Suggest it on the Haputale page.
Town Tools builds free, public tools for Haputale and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.
Neighbours are starting to report the roads — tap to see.
Nobody publishes whether the road out of Haputale is open. In the rain that is the thing everyone needs to know, and the way it travels now is by phone call.
This is a neighbour board. If you have just driven a stretch, tap it and say what you found — clear, slow going, or blocked. If you are about to set off, look first. Reading takes nothing; adding a report takes a free account, and reports drop off the board after a day, so it never shows you yesterday's road as today's.

How this works
These are neighbours, not an official service, and an empty board means nobody has reported — never that the road is clear. For a landslide warning the NBRO and the Disaster Management Centre are the authority: call 117. If a road is blocked right now, or anyone is in danger, call the police on 119. If you are told to move, move.
