Live chop, wind and water temperature for the spots people around Dingle actually swim — the harbour mouth, Ventry, Béal Bán and Wine Strand.
About these tools
Town Tools builds free, public tools for Dingle and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.

The spots people around Dingle actually swim, read for swimmers: chop, wind and water temperature rather than surf. The forecast model works on an offshore grid, so each spot carries an honest note about where its numbers really come from.
Lifeguards: check the signs at the beach
Lifeguard cover on Kerry beaches is seasonal and set by Kerry County Council. We could not verify this year's dates and hours, so treat every spot here as unguarded unless the flags and signs at the beach say otherwise.
Dingle harbour mouth (Beenbawn side)
Numbers come from open Dingle Bay outside the harbour — inside the mouth, by the lighthouse and Beenbawn, it is usually calmer than shown. Beenbawn's access path was damaged by a rock fall in 2023; check locally that it has reopened before walking out.

Ventry / Ceann Trá
The forecast point sits out toward the mouth of Ventry Harbour; the long strand itself is more sheltered, so real conditions are usually calmer than the numbers.

A forecast is not a lifeguard
These are open-water model forecasts, not spot-by-spot readings — shelter, tide and wind change what the water actually feels like at each beach. Beaches on this coast have real rip currents: swim and surf between the flags when lifeguards are on, and if in doubt, don’t go out. In an emergency dial 112 or 999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
