The weekend Dawson celebrates the 1896 gold strike. Around it: the golf tournament (from Aug 12), the fastball tournament (Aug 14–16) and the Horticultural Exhibition (Aug 15). Discovery Day itself, a Yukon statutory holiday, is Monday August 17.
