Corrected the flood-scheme status and added the January 2024 flooding to the council/tax/bins/flood research doc.
plan-picker is a break-even calculator for towns selling a per-use rate alongside one or more flat passes for the same right — parking, a facility, a market stall — where a flat pass usually isn't a proportional slice of the per-use rate. First use: Salamanca's ORA resident parking products.
IKEA, ICA Maxi and Flygvapenmuseum — the retail area residents search for most — with real hours and whether each is open right now.
The new “drive-window” kind reads roadside weather stations on the passes out of a town — gusts, air temperature and the road surface temperature itself — and ranks the calmest hours ahead. It carries no safety threshold, because no road authority publishes one we could cite; it compares hours rather than grading them, and leaves every open-or-closed verdict to the road authority. Separately, tools that must quote a resident can now carry a translation beside the quote: the words stay exactly as they were published, and our translation sits underneath, labelled as ours.
Vegagerðin's roadside masts on Öxnadalsheiði and Víkurskarð measure the temperature of the road surface itself, which can sit below freezing while the air above it does not — and no forecast can tell you that. The new page shows those readings as they come in, alongside the calmest stretches of the next three days, so a drive that can wait can be moved. It ranks hours against each other and never calls any of them safe: whether the road is open is Vegagerðin's answer, and it is linked on the page.
The lake temperature page was built for Slovenia's national feed. It now also reads the Hydrographischer Dienst Oberösterreich, which publishes both a reading every fifteen minutes and a full year of daily averages from the same gauge — so an Austrian lake page can show what the water is doing today and what the lake's own year looked like, without claiming to know what is normal for the date.
Plenty of towns charge for parking well into the night — Ohrid charges from 07:30 until 03:00 the next morning. Until today our parking pages read a window like that as if it were empty, so the "do I have to pay right now?" answer was wrong through the whole evening. It now follows the window across midnight, including the case where last night's charging is still running on a morning the zone would otherwise be free.
Nobody publishes a live count of how many people are standing in Hallstatt. This board is the village telling itself: tap a place — the Marktplatz, Seestraße, the north photo spot, the ferry pier, or Lahn — and say how it is at this moment. Reading it needs no account; posting does, and reports fade after three hours.
The flood page said the North Reading and Lower Caversham scheme was still at design stage. It was actually reviewed and not progressed by the Environment Agency in December 2021. Updated with that and the January 2024 flooding.
Live hourly air quality and, in season, pollen — with the IDR, Cemetery Junction and Caversham Road hotspots called out from the council's Air Quality Action Plan.
An answer that pointed a resident at another tool on the same town page — written as a plain path — rendered as text they had to retype. Free-text answers, intros and tips now turn those into real links, alongside the phone numbers, emails and web addresses they already handled.
Weekly food collections have reached many Cambridge rounds, but the feed our lookup reads returns only the black, blue and green bins and drops the council's food-caddy line. The page now says so, rather than leaving a weekly collection quietly missing. The example postcode is now a residential one.
The ban became enforceable on 17 July and is still on with no end date, so it no longer reads as something about to happen. Added the Mill Road bus gate review timetable, the busway fencing progress, and weekly food waste as its own entry.
Where bike thefts have actually been reported near the middle of the city over the last three months, from Cambridgeshire police's own published data, with the covered cycle parks, what genuinely makes a bike harder to steal, and how to report one. Reported thefts are down about 70% since 2019 — the page says so.
On a phone, a tool's controls and its answer do not always fit on the same screen. Tap an option near the top of a long list and the price, the verdict or the ranking it changes can sit below the bottom edge — so nothing appears to happen. Seven kinds now carry a small bar at the foot of the screen with the current answer, which updates as you change your choices and disappears once the answer itself is in view. Tap it to jump straight to the full result. Nothing was removed or moved: the answer is where it always was, and the bar only appears when you cannot see it. We also added a check that measures this across every tool page at phone width, so new tools get caught rather than found later.
Some shared wording was written in the Spanish of Argentina and Uruguay and was being shown to towns in Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Peru, where it reads as somebody else's. The community recommendations board, the heat, frost, surf and weather-warning pages were rewritten in neutral Spanish. Where a page is only used by towns that do speak that way, it was left as it was — the point is that the words sound like the place, not that everyone gets the same ones.
It is now The Highest Tides Ahead: the biggest predicted tides over the next six weeks, the dates worth noting in advance. High Water Watch answers the other question — whether wind and surge are piling water on top of one this week.
A high tide on its own is an ordinary day. What puts water on Edgewater and Main is a tall tide arriving at the same hour as a wind out of the bay, with a storm surge underneath it — and until now nothing on the site read the wind's direction or a surge forecast at all. The new page lines all three up, high water by high water: the Hydrographic Service's predictions for Mahone Harbour, the wind at that hour on the Beaufort scale, and how far the nearest gauge that forecasts a water level (Bedford Institute, 66 km east in Halifax Harbour) is running above its own tide table. You can also get one email when the three line up. It describes water and wind; it is not a flood warning, and Environment Canada's alerts are linked on the page.
Pick your vehicle's VED band and add a second or third permit to see what your household's Residents Parking Scheme permits actually cost a year, on the council's own 2026 terms.
The verified headline dates through the rest of 2026: the Summer Night's Dinner on 15 August, the Delta Life finale and Air Guitar World Championships in late August, and two new museums opening this autumn. Pinned to the town page.
Where a country runs exchange controls, the same currency pair has two live numbers at once: the central bank's published rate, which is what tariffs and wages are set against, and a market rate that trades away from it. The new kind shows both with their own timestamps, the gap between them, a converter that works an amount at both rates at once, and a panel that says what a price quoted in local currency on an older date is worth today. It never presents the market figure as official. First use: Mérida, Venezuela.
The town's own facts said Cluj's PM2.5 measured about 45.6 µg/m³ and was among Romania's worst — which contradicted the Air & Smog tool on the same site. IQAir puts the yearly average at around 13 µg/m³, roughly 2.8 times the World Health Organization guideline: high enough that the bad days matter, and worst on calm freezing days when the Someș basin traps wood smoke. The record now says that.
The board still said the widening and the Florești overpass would run until "around summer 2026", a date that has now passed. The Cluj–Florești works reached 92 percent in early July; the city has August down for road markings and the new traffic-light system, and expects full traffic on all six lanes — including about 3.5 km of dedicated bus and emergency lane between Calvaria and the hospital site — from 1 September 2026.
The transport line still carried the tariffs that came in on 1 August 2025. CTP has since moved to a simplified grid: a monthly pass is now 108 lei for one line, 147 for two and 213 for all of them, and a single ticket is 3.50 lei. Students, master's and doctoral students under 30 enrolled full-time at a Cluj university still travel free; those who do not qualify pay 44 lei a month, not 56. The metropolitan lines out to Florești, Baciu and Apahida are charged by zone and are now named separately.
The next departures on the lines Cluj queues for — M26 and M21 out to Florești, A1 to the airport terminal, line 5 along the Park & Ride corridor, M41 and M31 to Apahida and Baciu, and the 25, 30 and 35 across town. Read straight from CTP's own timetable files, so each line shows the date its current sheet came into force. They are departure times from the ends of the line, not live positions — the page says so plainly, because CTP publishes no times for the stops in between.
On a handful of pages a price arrived labelled for a foreign reader rather than a local one. Fresh-dollar figures on the Lebanese generator, solar and amp pages read "US$107.50" and now read "$107.50"; Dilijan's cost-of-living page read "AMD 120,000" and now reads "֏120,000". Thirteen pages across nine towns changed, and only the sign changed — every amount is the same number it was. Lebanese lira amounts deliberately keep "LBP", because that is what the bills and the newspapers there use: we checked each country rather than applying one rule everywhere.
The planned-outage tool was written for a utility that publishes one week at a time in a 12-hour clock. It now also handles utilities that post dated notices one by one, and windows written as 08:00-16:00 — which had quietly kept the tool out of most of the world. Where a utility names streets, the page gained a lookup that runs entirely in your browser; nothing you type is sent anywhere. It always says plainly that a street can be affected without being named.
A waste calendar can follow a city that publishes a rule rather than dates — including Heidelberg's, where the collection week depends on your house number. A residents' parking permit can be priced at a flat annual fee with a published forward schedule, not only by the size of the vehicle. And ferry fares are no longer assumed to be US dollars, which had quietly blocked the mainland-trip planner for every island outside the United States.
Heavy rain, wind, high waves and thunderstorms, from the Takamatsu Local Meteorological Office's own feed. Naoshima is reported as its own area rather than lumped in with Takamatsu City, so these are the island's warnings. A warning is not a ferry cancellation, and the page links Shikoku Kisen for that.
Uno or Takamatsu — which way to go for a hospital, a supermarket or the prefectural office, what the boats cost, where to park on the other side, and whether you will make the last one home, worked against your clock. The fares are Shikoku Kisen's own, read this month; the two crossings are priced separately because they differ by a lot.
