Town Tools builds free, public tools for Thompson's Station and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.

Nothing here is run by one organisation. Water comes from a utility district, sewer from the Town, electricity from a co-operative, gas from a company, and your bins from whoever your HOA hired — or from you, to the county centre. New arrivals ask about the bins first, and the answer is genuinely "it depends who your HOA uses".
The Town does not collect trash
There is no municipal bin service in Thompson's Station. In most subdivisions the HOA has a contract with a private hauler, so your HOA is the place to ask who comes and on what day. If you are not in one, the Williamson County convenience centre on Thompson's Station Road West takes household waste and recycling free for county residents — details below.
There is no Town police or fire department
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office polices the Town and Williamson County Fire/Rescue — a volunteer-based service — covers fire, EMS and rescue. For anything urgent it is 911.
The Town's own page lists 615-790-5560, which the Sheriff's own site gives as the main and jail-booking line. For a non-emergency, 615-790-5550 is the number the Sheriff publishes.
A member-owned co-operative. The same number takes outage reports and payments around the clock.

Your HOA
Who collects your bins, and on what day
The Town's own answer to "who picks up my trash?" is to ask your homeowners' association. Each one contracts its own hauler, so the day and the company differ from one subdivision to the next.
Which school a street attends is set by the district and has changed with rezoning as new schools opened, so check against your own address rather than against a neighbour's.
Hillsboro, Burwood & Thompson's Station — a separate non-profit utility district, not part of the Town. After hours, ring the same number and take menu option 3; it reaches an answering service that passes the message on. Water is due by the 10th of the month.
Billing is extension 4. New service: newservice@thompsons-station.com. Much of the Town is on septic instead, and the Town's pages disagree about which subdivisions are sewered — ask before you assume. To pay a wastewater bill by phone: (877) 285-3271.
Round the back of the fire station. Takes household garbage, brush (3 feet or shorter), construction and demolition waste, and sorted recycling — metal, cans, aluminium, plastic bottles and jugs, glass, paper, cardboard, used motor oil and used cooking oil. No plastic bags. There is an attended Goodwill donation centre and an e-waste point, though not for flatscreen TVs. Bring a valid driving licence and proof of residency; up to 3 cubic yards a day from your own home. Tyres, paint, antifreeze, car batteries and mattresses go to the landfill centre instead, not here. Rental properties count as commercial and must use the landfill.
Town leaf collection
Bagged leaves, October to December — you have to sign up
Free, weekly, and opt-in: nothing is collected unless the Town has you on the list. Our own page /thompson-s-station-tennessee-us/leaf-collection will tell you which zone your address is in and when the truck next comes.

Ring before you load up. The county's own pages currently contradict each other on both the hours (Monday to Saturday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm in one place, Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 4:00 pm in another) and on whether residents still get free tonnage, so we are not going to print a time or a price we cannot stand behind. Tyres are limited to 6 per household per day.
Fax 615-794-3313. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm; agendas, minutes and video are on the Town's site.
