Techiman's GWCL system runs on the Tano River and can't meet the town's own demand — the company's own figures put daily production at under a third of what the town needs, so parts of town go dry on a rotation, and upstream galamsey turbidity can stop treatment for days at a time. News of a cut, or when it's back, travels by radio and word of mouth, not a published schedule. Where the water comes from

The Techiman system draws from the Tano River; when upstream illegal mining (galamsey) muddies the water beyond what the treatment plant can clear, GWCL has cut supply town-wide for days rather than send it out untreated. That kind of cut hits every area at once, not just one.
