And the train
St Austell station sits right next to the bus station, on the Cornish Main Line between London Paddington and Penzance — "it's on the main line" is the local shorthand for how connected the town is. Direct trains run west to Truro and Penzance and east to Bodmin Parkway, Plymouth, Exeter and London, typically a train every hour or so in each direction through the day.
The Night Riviera sleeper between London Paddington and Penzance also calls at St Austell in both directions.
