Soweto's calendar runs on two big fixed points — the Soweto Derby (Pirates v Chiefs) and the Soweto Kota Festival — plus whatever FNB Stadium is hosting that season; the stadium sits right on Soweto's Nasrec edge and its biggest nights fill up the whole area.
One fixture is missing this year. The Soweto Marathon — "the People's Race" — was pulled from the 2026 calendar after organisers failed to pay prize money owed from the last edition, and Gauteng's sports MEC is now meeting Soweto's running clubs to try to save it. If it returns, its date will appear here.
