Port Fairy to Warrnambool is a $5.80 full-fare single, $2.90 concession. A daily ticket is capped at $11.40 full fare and $5.70 concession, and on weekends and public holidays nobody pays more than $8.00 ($4.00 concession). Shorter hops cost less — Port Fairy to Koroit is $4.40 ($2.20 concession). Those are the fares set in the Victorian regional bus fares supplement, effective 1 January 2026.
Half price until 1 January 2027: every Victorian public transport fare has been halved since 1 June 2026, so the full-fare daily cap is $5.70 and the concession cap $2.85. The discount is applied automatically — you don't have to ask for it. Anyone under 18 travels free, children under 5 travel free, and Victorian seniors, Disability Support Pension recipients and carers travel free on weekends.
Every Route 8 service is published as a wheelchair-accessible bus. The timetable data carries no accessibility information for the stops themselves, so if a particular stop matters, check it before you rely on it.
Route 8 finishes at the Lava Street Interchange in central Warrnambool, where the town routes meet: route 1 for Warrnambool Base Hospital on Koroit Street, routes 3 and 9 for Gateway Plaza, route 3 for Deakin University. It does not call at Warrnambool railway station — that is on Merri Street, about a kilometre away, and town routes 1 and 6 run between the two.
