What moves the numbers

Finnish guests come first and leave first

Finland is the town’s biggest foreign market, and it is the part that moves. Hoteliers told ERR that Finnish overnight stays fell 15% in one November and further in December, while the year as a whole held level — the shoulder months feel a change in Finnish demand before July does.

The spas carry the winter

Pärnu’s mud baths date from 1838, and the spa hotels take guests through the months when the beach is closed. That is much of why January still holds well over a thousand guests a night on this page, rather than none.
