Town Tools builds free, public tools for Ohrid and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.
The part most people get wrong is not the afternoon — it is the evening: Ohrid charges from 07:30 in the morning straight through until 03:00 the next morning, every day of the week, including Sundays.

| Zone | Rate | Paid hours | Now |
|---|---|---|---|
| Premium zoneThe strict centre. Priced to keep the kerb turning over rather than to be parked on all day — at 100 den an hour, an evening out costs more in parking than most meals. | 100 den/hour | Every day 07:30 until 03:00 the next morning | Paid |
| Zone AThe ring of central streets just outside the Premium zone. | 40 den/hour | Every day 07:30 until 03:00 the next morning | Paid |
| Zone BThe wider paid area, and the zone JP "Biljanini Izvori" points visitors to for a monthly ticket if you are staying a while. | 30 den/hour |

When parking is free
There is no free day and no free weekend. Charging runs every day of the week from 07:30 until 03:00 the next morning, so the only free stretch is the four and a half hours between 03:00 and 07:30. Any exception — a holiday, a festival closure, a change of rate — is announced by JP "Biljanini Izvori" on its own notices page, linked below.
Every charged street has an info board with the instructions for that street. JP "Biljanini Izvori" asks drivers to follow the board rather than assume, because the zone changes from one street to the next.
Good to know
Two things worth knowing that the price list does not say. First, the rates above are the standing ones: for the winter of 2025–26 the enterprise dropped all three zones to a flat 30 den an hour between 1 October and 31 March, announced by its own notice on 1 October 2025 and expired since. It has not published a notice for the coming winter, so if you are reading this after the end of September, check the notices page before trusting the 40 and the 100. Second, the old town runs on a different system entirely: since 28 May 2026 motor vehicles need a card issued by JP "Biljanini Izvori", and since 13 July 2026 Ilindenska, Kosta Abrash and Car Samoil are for residents of those streets only, with a valid resident sticker and free of charge. Deliveries into the old town have to be finished by 10:00. A vehicle parked there without a sticker can be fitted with a wheel clamp.
