Narva charges for parking on two small areas around Peetri plats, on weekdays only. Both cost the same €2 an hour — the difference is the hours they are enforced, and how long you can stay for nothing if you show what time you arrived.

A permit costs the same whatever you use it for, so the useful number is how much paid parking it replaces. Each one pays for itself once you have parked the hours shown — charged hours only, spread over the whole period.

The period ticket is €150 a month and buys the same parking anyone else pays €2 an hour for; it is not a resident's discount. The city's regulation does provide for exemptions and reduced rates, but does not publish who qualifies alongside the prices — ask Linnamajandusamet, the city government department that administers the charge.

When parking is free
Free all day Saturday and Sunday in both zones, and free outside the charged hours — after 23:00 in N1, after 17:00 in N2. The city's rule also makes riigipühad free; the weekday ones listed here are 20 August, 24 and 25 December, then 1 January, 26 March, 23 and 24 June, 20 August and 24 December in 2027. One day is deliberately not on that list: 24 February is a day off across Estonia, but it is the rahvuspüha rather than a riigipüha, and the city's rule names only riigipühad. This page charges for it. If you are parking that day, check the machine.
The zone codes are N1 and N2 — the same codes that appear on the signs.
Good to know
There is no maximum stay. The city publishes an hourly rate, a day rate and a monthly ticket, but does not say how part-hours are billed, so this page rounds up to the whole hour — a machine may well charge you less. Once a stay passes five charged hours the €10 day rate is cheaper, and the calculator uses it. Paying does not make it legal to park where a sign forbids it.
