This still hasn’t loaded. It looks stuck rather than slow, so reloading is worth a try now.
Town Tools builds free, public tools for Marfa and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.

Neighbours are starting to report the roads — tap to see.
Marfa's summer monsoon brings hard, sudden thunderstorms, and the roads out of town cross creeks and low spots that can run with water in minutes — then drop just as fast. Highway 90 east to Alpine is the road to the nearest ER and full grocery, Highway 67 south drops into the river country toward Shafter and Presidio, and the dirt of Pinto Canyon washes out in a storm.
This is a neighbour board: if you've just driven one of these, tap it and say how you found it — clear, slow going, or blocked. The board shows the middle report of the last several hours, so one voice can't tip it. It is not an official closure notice. Never drive into moving water, however shallow it looks — turn around. In an emergency call 911.

US-90 East: Marfa → Alpine
The 26-mile run to the nearest ER, pharmacy and full grocery. Dips and creek crossings east of town take standing water in a storm.
No reports yet
US-90 West: Marfa → Valentine
West toward Valentine and the road on to Van Horn and I-10; open grassland, crosses several draws that flood fast.
No reports yet
US-67 South: Marfa → Shafter → Presidio
Drops out of the plateau into the river country. Low-water crossings, and rockslides on the canyon stretch north of Shafter after heavy rain.

Pinto Canyon Road (RM 2810) → Ruidosa
Paved out of Marfa, then ten miles of steep dirt through the Chinati canyon to Ruidosa and FM 170. The dirt section washes out in a storm and is not for low-clearance cars — check before you go.
These are neighbours, not an official service. Live closures and incidents are here: TxDOT — DriveTexas — The Texas Department of Transportation's statewide road-conditions map and phone line — the authority for the highways (US-90, US-67). It covers closures and high water on state roads, updated as crews report them. Pinto Canyon's dirt section is county-maintained and off the map; ask locally before driving it in wet weather.Report a hazard: 1-800-452-9292
How this works
Each report counts for about 8 hours, then drops off on its own. A road shows once at least 1 recent report is in; when several are in we show the middle one, so a single voice can’t swing it.
These are reports from neighbours, not an official closure notice and not a clearance to travel. The National Weather Service in Midland issues flash-flood warnings for Presidio County; TxDOT's DriveTexas is the authority for the highways; and in an emergency the Presidio County Sheriff and 911 are who to call. Above all: if water is over the road, turn around — most flood deaths happen in vehicles, and a foot of moving water can carry off a truck.
