Baroon Pocket Dam, on Obi Obi Creek just below Maleny, is the reservoir the town watches fill and fall — and a main store feeding the Sunshine Coast through the Northern Pipeline. This page transcribes Seqwater's own published level with the date it was read; it is not a live gauge.

Baroon Pocket
100% full
as of 15 July 2026 · Feeds Maleny and the wider Sunshine Coast via the Baroon Pocket treatment plant and the Northern Pipeline Interconnector.
These are the published figures on their dates — transcribed, not live readings. Newer notices may exist.
A full Baroon Pocket is reassuring, but it isn't the whole picture. The dam is part of the connected SEQ Water Grid: water can be moved in from other storages through the Northern Pipeline when Baroon is low, and drawn on by the wider Sunshine Coast when demand is high. Restrictions across South-east Queensland are set on the grid's combined level, not this one dam — the region still remembers how far storages fell in the Millennium Drought.
The current level for Baroon Pocket and every SEQ supply dam.
Five years of daily readings for each dam.
