The line for the ride home, toward Ruifang or Taipei. Residents and visitors both report it can be long in the evening.

If the queue is long

Train to Ruifang, then a short bus

On busy days the train from Taipei to Ruifang (about 30–60 minutes) avoids the road traffic that slows the direct bus, and the last 10–15 minutes up the hill are on 788, 827, 965 or 1062.

Try bus 965

Visitors who know the area suggest bus 965 as a line fewer people use, so the queue is often shorter than for the 1062.

Go earlier or later

Visitors describe the Old Street as quiet before about 10:00 and again after about 19:00–20:00. The queues follow the crowds, so the same hours are the calm ones for the bus too.
