About these tools

Town Tools builds free, public tools for Brno and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.

The tariff zones

Which one applies depends on where you park, not on where you are going.

The city currently files 82 numbered permit areas.

Zone A — the historic centre

Only residents and businesses of area 1-01 may park here, and only inside their own sub-area. There is a vehicle entry restriction on the centre as well, so a permit to park is not a permit to drive in.

Zone B — the inner city

Charged around the clock on working days, and from 17:00 on Sundays. Free all day on Saturdays and on public holidays, with no registration needed. A ticket is valid across the whole of zone B, so you can move the car while it runs.

Kč 40 per hour beyond the free allowance.

The first 1 hour are free, once per calendar day.

The first hour is free once per calendar day, and it still has to be registered — at a parking machine, in ParkSimply or EasyPark, or at the online machine. It resets at midnight, so an hour used from 23:30 to 00:30 spends both days' allowance.

Zone C — the rest of the system

Charged overnight on working days only, 17:00 to 06:00. Free all day at weekends and on public holidays, and free on working days between 06:00 and 17:00 with no registration.

Kč 30 per hour beyond the free allowance.

The first 1 hour are free, once per calendar day.

The first hour is free once per calendar day and still has to be registered, in ParkSimply, EasyPark or the online machine — there are no parking machines in zone C.

What a permit buys

Each price is for one year unless the line says otherwise.

Resident

For someone with permanent residence in the area — or with an EU registration certificate, a residence permit, a visa over 90 days or asylum — or for someone who owns property in it. Each price is for one year, and each car is priced on its own: a second car costs 8,000 Kč on top of the first car's 800 Kč.

First car: Kč 800
Second car: Kč 8,000
Third and each further car: Kč 12,000
100 extra visitor hours in zone A or B: Kč 200on top of the 200 hours a resident already gets free
50 extra visitor hours in zone C: Kč 200on top of the 100 hours a resident already gets free

Business (abonent)

For a business with its registered seat, a branch, or property in the area. Each price is for one year.

First car: Kč 4,000
Second and each further car: Kč 18,000
Transferable permit: Kč 24,000any visitor's plate, entered through your account — your customers park as visitors without it

Prepaid visitor permit, zone B

For anyone who works in the inner city and parks there on weekdays. No residence and no link to the vehicle has to be proved, and the plate can be changed. Valid in zone B from 06:00 to 17:00 only.

One month: Kč 1,600
One year: Kč 16,000

Motorcycle

Free wherever parking is regulated — but only with the permit, which has to be arranged in advance. Without one a motorcycle pays the visitor tariff. Only the vehicle registration document is needed, not proof of residence.

The flower: where your permit also works

Brno calls it the květinka, the flower. A resident's or a business's permit works in the area it was issued for — the centre of the flower — and in every area that touches it, the petals. The city's own definition is precise: a neighbouring area is one that the centre touches by an edge or a corner. That is why the list this page gives you is worked out from the city's own published boundaries rather than typed in by hand.

Free visitor hours follow the same rule. A resident can give up to 300 hours a year to visitors, and those hours work in the resident's own area and in its petals.

Paid visitor parking works differently and more simply: a ticket is valid across the whole tariff zone you bought it in, so for the time you have paid for you can move the car anywhere in zone B, or anywhere in zone C.

Area 1-01, the historic centre, can never be a petal. Only residents and businesses of 1-01 itself may park there, and only within their own sub-area — everyone else is kept out by the centre's vehicle entry restriction, which a parking permit does not lift. If a resident of 1-01 gives you free hours, park in the neighbouring zone B areas instead.

What this page cannot see

Not all of Brno is in the parking system. If this page finds no area for your address, that usually means your street has not joined yet rather than that no rules apply — the city has kept switching districts on through 2026, and its own data already carries the next ones with future start dates. It can also mean the published boundary is a few days behind a change on the ground. If nothing is found and you can see blue road markings or a parking machine, believe the street.

Worth knowing

Zone C is charged from 17:00 to 06:00 on working days, and the city says separately that weekends and public holidays are not regulated at all. This page therefore treats a Friday evening as charged and the small hours of the Saturday as free. The city does not spell that seam out anywhere, so on a Friday night, or the night before a holiday, read the sign.

The free first hour is once per calendar day and it resets at midnight. It has to be registered even though it costs nothing — at a machine in zone B, or in ParkSimply, EasyPark or the online machine. An unregistered free hour is an unpaid hour.

A stay here is priced at the city's published hourly rate. Machines and apps round to their own steps, so this is the rate rather than a quotation.

Electric and hybrid vehicles have a fourth zone, E, with its own terms. This page does not carry it.

The historic centre has a vehicle entry restriction that is separate from parking. A permit to park is not a permit to drive in.

Area 1-01 is divided into sub-areas, and a permit for it works only inside its own sub-area. This page names the area, not the sub-area.
