A second phase of High Street public realm work started in August 2026, with new planting and seating going in along the street. Palmerston Road junction is expected to follow in autumn 2026, then Selborne Avenue and Buxton Road, with all of it due to finish by spring 2027. The council says businesses stay open and pedestrian access is kept throughout, but stall positions may shift temporarily while a section is being worked on — if your usual stall isn't where you expect it, that is likely why.
