TasNetworks — life support
Register through your electricity retailer or TasNetworks. Registered addresses get at least four business days' written notice before planned work, and if the power goes off unexpectedly, say you are a life support customer when you ring.
TasNetworks owns the poles, wires and transformers across Tasmania, whoever you buy your electricity from — so this is the list whatever your bill says on it. Their North-West region is large: it runs from Devonport across to Circular Head and down the west coast, so an outage listed there can be two hours' drive from Stanley. One thing this list is not: a schedule of work still to come. It shows what is out now, including planned work already under way. Notice of future planned work comes in writing, and in April 2026 Stanley businesses said a full day's outage arrived without any.
