When parking is free
Sunday is free everywhere except the Gradska tržnica streets in Zone 0, which are charged 07:00–12:00. Saturday charging stops at 14:00 across the whole city. Outside the hours in the table, parking costs nothing. Rijeka plus writes its hours for "radnim danom" (working days) and Saturday and publishes no separate public-holiday rule, so on a blagdan read the sign at the machine before you decide. Senjsko pristanište is not charged at all at the moment.
Good to know
Street parking is sold by the hour, so 90 minutes is two hours. You have 10 minutes from parking to pay. If a controller finds it unpaid they leave a dnevna parkirna karta — a daily parking ticket of €11.00 — under the wiper; it is payable within 8 days at the counter, at a machine, or by bank transfer, and after that the bill goes to the address the car is registered to. You can check whether one has been issued for your plate on 051 311 401, weekdays 08:00–16:00.

One card covers all the open on-street lots. You choose open lots or the closed ones under ramps when you buy it — a card for both costs twice. The weekly card is €22.56 and is only made at the Rijeka plus counter, Jelačićev trg 3, with an ID card and the vehicle registration; the magnetic card itself costs €2.65 on top. The €5.31 monthly resident rate is the povlaštena parkirna karta: you need a registered address inside the charged area and a car registered in your name, and it is sold for at most six months at a time. Holders of a valid disabled-badge decision and Homeland War invalids also qualify. None of these cards is valid at Krešimirova, Krešimirova zapad, Rikard Benčić, Franje Čandeka or Grobnička riva — Zones 2A, 4 and 5 are paid by the hour or by the day only. A card is not a reserved space.
One SMS pays for at most one hour, so an all-day ticket is eight messages. If no confirmation SMS arrives within two minutes the payment did not go through. Foreign mobile networks cannot use m-Parking.
