Bernwood Road play area
Off Bernwood Road, Barton. One of the longest slides around, plus a sand pit, zip wire, nest swing and roundabout.
In Blackbird Leys Park, next to Leys Pools and Leisure Centre. Two play areas with a sand pit, zip wire and timber play, a climbing wall and nets, and a fenced baby area by the main playground.
Off Primrose Place, Blackbird Leys. Fenced playground with slides, swings, tyre swings and rockers, and a separate rope-climbing frame across the field.
In Botley Park, off Botley Road by the community centre. Climbing frames, roundabouts, swings and springers, with a zip wire and a multi-use games area alongside.

By Dean Court Community Centre, off Pinnocks Way (just over the city line in Botley). Known for its huge rope climbing frame — ladders, monkey bars and rope buckets to scramble between.
Off Meadow Lane, near the river (OX4 1TL). Big open-access playground: zip wire, sand pit, a high climbing frame with tunnel slide, and swings of all kinds. No toilets on site.
In Florence Park, between Cornwallis Road and Rymers Lane. Three play areas around the park, with a zip wire, timber play and a sand pit. Tennis courts and Flo's Cafe are in the park too.
In Bury Knowle Park, off London Road, Headington. Narnia-inspired play area: sand pits, a pirate play feature, swings, a zip wire, climbing rocks and timber frames.
Off Marston Road, near Jack Straw's Lane (OX3 0FD). Separate climbing frames for toddlers and bigger kids, tyre swings and balancing logs, with ponds and little bridges beside it.
On the recreation ground off Oxford Road, Old Marston. Fenced playground with a climbing fort and slides, a zip wire, roundabout and swings; basketball court alongside.
In Cutteslowe Park, North Oxford (OX2 8NP). Three play areas across the park — two on the Cutteslowe side, one on the Sunnymead side — plus a splash feature from the first May bank holiday, a concrete skate park, and a miniature railway April to October.
In Hinksey Park, off Abingdon Road. Large play area with a sand pit, a free splash park in summer, and a mini wheels track for bikes and scooters all year.
Behind Grandpont Children's Centre, off Whitehouse Road. Free, supervised adventure play run by the SOAP charity. Opening days and ages vary between term time and holidays — check before you go.
