Eleven bus services were withdrawn in Milton Keynes in spring 2026 — routes 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 30, 31, 37 and 80 on 31 March, and 9 and 301 on 1 April. What replaced them is MK Connect: a shared minibus you book when you want it, rather than a route with a timetable.
That is a real change in a city built on the promise that everyone would be six minutes' walk from a grid-road bus stop, and it comes with things a timetable never had — a booking app, a wait of around half an hour, and no service at all on a Sunday.
