Two things decide this trip: which crossing you need, and when you go.
Only Naujoji perkėla, at Nemuno g. 8, takes vehicles — it is the one way to drive to the Curonian Spit. Senoji perkėla, at Danės g. 1 by the cruise terminal, takes foot passengers and cyclists only.
The timetable is not what costs you time; the queue is. Waits of two hours to get off the Spit have been reported on summer weekends, and the worst of it is between 16:00 and 18:00, when everyone tries to come back at once. Crossing before about 15:00 or after 19:00 is the difference between a five-minute trip and an afternoon.
When the flow is heavy the ferries stop working to the timetable altogether and simply load and go, one boat after another. The operator's dispatcher line is 1870.
Smiltynė I and Smiltynė II beaches are on the far side, so a beach day and a ferry trip are the same journey.

Every price here is for the return trip and includes VAT. They took effect on 21 June 2024, and for the 2026 season the operator confirmed they have not changed. The passenger fare already covers a bicycle, luggage or a pram — there is nothing extra to pay for those. Who qualifies for the 50% and 80% discounts is set by the operator, not by us: ask at the ticket office or check keltas.lt.
