This still hasn’t loaded. It looks stuck rather than slow, so reloading is worth a try now.
Town Tools builds free, public tools for Glace Bay and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.

When the power goes out, the first question is always the same: is it just my house, or the whole street? This board lets neighbours answer each other. Tap the area you're in to report an outage, and see where else people are reporting one right now.
It's run by neighbours, not Nova Scotia Power — use it alongside the official outage line and map below, not instead of them. Glace Bay knows how long a restoration can take: Fiona in September 2022 left much of Cape Breton dark for days, and the February 2024 nor'easter did it again.
After the worst of a storm has passed, CBRM sometimes opens comfort centres to warm up and charge phones — in Glace Bay, the Glace Bay Fire Department (87 Reserve Street) and the Hub Amateur Athletic Club (50 East Avenue) are on its list. Openings are announced on CBRM's channels and local radio.
Dominion and Reserve Mines are their own communities — this board covers Glace Bay itself.
These reports come from neighbours, not the power company. Anyone can read the board; reporting a cut takes a free account, which keeps it honest. A report clears itself after about 6 hours, so the board stays current on its own. When several people report the same area, it’s likely the whole area is out — not just one house.
Reporting a fault to Nova Scotia Power
The outage line takes reports 24 hours a day, and the outage map shows what Nova Scotia Power knows about. Report your outage to them first — this board is for checking in with neighbours while you wait.
