Nobody publishes whether the roads out of Ella are open. There is no live feed for the Ella Gap, and the one national road-reporting site set up after Cyclone Ditwah stopped being updated in December 2025. What there is, is people who have just driven it — tuk-tuk drivers, bus passengers, guesthouse owners running someone to Badulla. This board is for them. How this works
These are neighbours reporting what they have just seen, not an authority. A road can close or reopen in the time between a report and your reading it, and an empty board means nobody has reported yet — never that a road is known to be clear.
