Parking is the thing people complain about most in Cochem, and almost all of it comes down to one fact nobody publishes anywhere a visitor will find it: the town charges two completely different tariffs, and they are nearly three times apart.
The squares in and beside the old town cost 1.60 € an hour and cap you at two, three or five hours. The long-stay car parks — Pinnerstraße behind the station above all — cost 0.60 € an hour and 3.00 € for a whole day. Every figure below is copied from the town's own fee orders of 27 March 2023, in force since 1 June 2023.

Tiefgarage Jahnstraße (upper deck)
CheapestJahnstraße — the second deck; the lower one is let to permanent holders
0.60 € an hour, and free every night from 19.00 to 9.00. One ticket covers three hours; if you are staying longer you have to buy another before the first runs out, so it is priced here as if you do. Pay in advance at the machine and put the ticket on the dashboard.

Pinnerstraße
Behind the station, on the town side of the river
The cheapest option in Cochem and the only one charged at the low tariff all year round: 0.60 € an hour, 3.00 € for a day ticket once you are past five hours (valid up to six days), 20.00 € for a month. There is no maximum stay. The first half hour is 0.20 €.

Uferstraße, Cond
The right bank, across the Skagerrakbrücke from the old town
Cochem's cheap riverside option in season, at the low tariff: 0.60 € an hour and 3.00 € for the day. The fee order sets a charge here only from 15 March to 14 November — outside that window it names no fee for this car park, so read the sign rather than assume. Parking in Cond is often described online as simply free; in the months when almost everybody visits, this stretch of it is not.

Parkhaus Endertstraße
Endertstraße, at the Enderttor end of the old town
The multi-storey, seven levels, open around the clock and the only central option with a day ticket: 0.60 € for each started half hour, 9.00 € for 24 hours. Maximum stay five days. Cars over 2.5 tonnes are not admitted, pay at the machine before you drive out, and a lost ticket costs 30.00 €.

The two car parks whose price flips with the season, and the one thing on this page most likely to catch a returning visitor out. From 15 March to 14 November they are on the high tariff — 1.60 € an hour, eight hours maximum. From 15 November to 14 March they drop to 0.60 € an hour with a 3.00 € day ticket and no maximum stay at all.

The closest you can park to the Marktplatz and the castle path, and the most expensive way to do it: 1.60 € an hour with a three-hour limit. The first half hour is 0.40 €, which is the cheap way to run one errand.

The machines run from 8.00 to 19.00; outside those hours the on-street car parks are not charged. The bus car park at Moselstraße 2 has no fee at all but a parking-disc rule and a half-hour maximum, so a coach can set people down there and nothing more.
