Two new tools for Oulu. **When's the next bus?** reads Oulu Regional Transport's own real-time feed and shows the next departures from four stops: Rotuaari in the middle of town, Pekuri for the buses out to Kiiminki, Haukipudas and Muhos, the university at Linnanmaa, and the hospital. Each time is marked either live — an estimate coming off the bus itself — or timetable, which is the plan and can change. OSL's current service notices sit above the boards, labelled as network-wide, because they are: the feed publishes them for the whole network rather than for one stop. The page also carries what the board cannot show you — the ticket. One flat fare covers the whole OSL area however far you go, valid 90 minutes, so changing bus inside that window costs nothing extra. An adult single is 2,90 € from the app, an OSL card, an R-kioski or a contactless tap; from the driver it is cash only, 5,00 €, and double that between 23:00 and 04:30. **Weather warnings for Oulu** shows every warning the Finnish Meteorological Institute currently has in force for Pohjois-Pohjanmaa, in FMI's own words and their own English. A warning covers the whole county — from the coast here inland past Pudasjärvi and Kuusamo — so the page says that plainly rather than letting a county-wide thunderstorm warning read as a forecast for your street. It is not an alert service and nothing on it will reach your phone; the 112 Suomi app and Yle's emergency bulletins are linked for that.
New tool kind: heating bills. District heating utilities publish a price per kilowatt-hour while residents hold a bill in euros, so the new kind does the arithmetic in between from the operator's own published consumption figures. Alongside it, parking tools can now describe zones charged round the clock and zones charged only in season; ferry fares now render as money rather than as bare numbers; and ferry queue boards have their own wording, because the nearest existing one told people they were waiting for the tide.
address-waste-calendar reads live per-address waste-collection APIs like Aachen's Abfallnavi, generic across the RegioIT platform. roadworks-board reads a town's own licensed roadworks/closures feed, filtering strictly by dates rather than the feed's own status label. Neighbourhood Crime Watch (crime-watch) is now genuinely category-generic rather than bike-theft-specific.

A new collaboration tool lets signed-in residents and travellers report whether Zoji La, Khardung La, Chang La and the Srinagar and Manali highways are clear, slow going or blocked right now — the one question the town's other road tools (a seasonal calendar and a snow forecast) deliberately don't answer. Reports age out on their own and the district administration and BRO stay the authoritative source alongside them.

Route 1S was reading 'No service' because of a Long Lake Road detour that only closes two stops — the bus is still running. The page now reads GOVA's live feed correctly and only flags a whole route down when the agency actually says so.
The cooling-cost calculator prices a household's air conditioning against a weather station's published degree-day normals and the local electricity tariff, billing the cooling as marginal use so a tiered rate is handled honestly. The upstream-flow tool reads Copernicus's global flood model for towns on rivers nobody gauges, and states plainly that it is a model estimate and never a flood warning. The flood-areas tool also gained French, so francophone towns no longer inherit English chrome.

Nobody publishes a live level for either reservoir, so the page says so rather than guessing.

It is an estimate, not your bill — and it only applies if the city's utility bills you, since homes south of the Virgin River are on Dixie Power.
Canadian towns hear their air quality as the AQHI — a 1-to-10+ scale from Environment and Climate Change Canada, measured at a local station. The existing air quality tool reports a European index from a model grid, which is the right answer almost everywhere and the wrong one in Canada. The new kind reads the AQHI a town's own station reports, and carries Environment Canada's published health messages word for word, in English and French.
Both notes were carrying facts that have since moved: the health section still described the 2024 de-rostering without the 2026 recovery, and the culture note repeated the cancelled train-station move. Both are now current, and record where wildfire smoke has started to interrupt the outdoor season.
The Steelworkers have said the Algoma layoffs are expected to run at least 35 weeks, and that members choose between severance and keeping recall rights once they have been off that long — for notices effective in late March, around late November. The guide now says this, and points to the temporary federal top-up of up to 20 extra weeks of EI for long-tenured workers.

The family-doctor page and the contacts page both sent people to 170 East Street. The clinic moved to Cambrian Mall, 44 Great Northern Road, in mid-July, and it takes appointments by phone from 8 a.m. rather than walk-ins. Both pages now say so, and both carry where the Group Health Centre's rebuild has got to: it expects 14,000 people attached to a provider by early 2027.
The events page had the Tour Train boarding at 429 Carmen's Way. That move was called off in the spring after a lease deal, and the train leaves from the Canal District station at 87 Huron Street as usual — 8 a.m. daily, August 1 to October 18. Bon Soo, Rotaryfest, the Queen Street Cruise and the Greyhounds had all quietly dropped off the board once their 2026 dates passed; each now carries its next date, and says plainly where next year's dates have not been announced yet.
When wildfire smoke drifts in, the number everyone quotes is the Air Quality Health Index. The new page reads it hourly from Environment Canada's Sault Ste. Marie station, with the hours ahead and the official advice split two ways: one answer for children, over-65s and anyone with a heart or lung condition, one for everyone else. It is pinned to the top of the town page for the rest of the smoke season, in place of the Highway 17 page, which comes back when the snow does.
Twenty-three pages — including the home page and several tool pages — were wider than a phone screen, so the whole layout slid sideways under your thumb and headings sat off-view. Long web addresses now wrap instead of pushing the page out, and the bar at the top of a tool page fits properly. A check now runs against every page so it does not come back.
Two shared Spanish text tables were written while building their first town and quietly carried that town's assumptions everywhere else. The cash-machine board's Spanish said, when every machine in a town is reported empty, "bring cash from Pochutla" — Pochutla being the bigger town next to Mazunte, in Oaxaca. The same tool now runs in Sayulita, El Chaltén and Punta del Diablo, so three towns, one of them 6,000 km away in Uruguay, were sending people to a town in Mexico. It now points at the town's own nearest cash, which was already on the page just below. The travel tool's Spanish was written for Barichara, in Colombia, and used words that read as foreign further south: busetas, carro, parqueo, tiquetes, taquilla. It now uses words a reader in Colombia, Mexico, Argentina or Uruguay will all recognise. A test was added so a place name cannot quietly reappear in shared text again.

Hay que estar registrado para reportar; leerlo no requiere nada. Un dato que verificamos y conviene saber: en Punta del Diablo no hay local de Abitab ni de Redpagos. Lo comprobamos en los listados de datos abiertos que publican las dos redes. Los más cercanos están en Castillos, a unos 40 km, y en Chuy, a unos 45.
Al pueblo se llega y se sale en ómnibus, y las tres empresas que paran en la terminal —Rutas del Sol, COT y Núñez y Viajes Cynsa— cambian los horarios con la temporada. Por eso la herramienta no copia horarios que se van a desactualizar. Dice qué empresas hacen cada tramo (Montevideo, Rocha, Castillos, Chuy), cuánto tarda cada uno, cuándo conviene comprar el pasaje con anticipación, y a qué hora se acaba el día para volver — y manda a la empresa o a la terminal para la hora exacta de hoy. La terminal está en la calle Brasil, abre de 7:00 a 23:00 todos los días del año, y el teléfono es 4477 2677. Preguntar ahí sigue siendo la forma más confiable de saber el horario de hoy.
All five Park & Ride lines — PR1 Madingley Road, PR2 Newmarket Road, PR3 Trumpington, PR4 Babraham Road, PR5 Milton — now show their live bus positions, read from the Department for Transport's open bus data feed and refreshed about once a minute. Each line also carries how often it runs and a link to its timetable. The page says plainly when a line has no bus reporting, which is normal between journeys and overnight. It does not guess: a position older than ten minutes is dropped rather than shown, because a bus that stopped reporting eight hours ago is worse than no bus at all. Fares and parking are on the page too: since 22 February 2026 an adult return is £4.50 and a short hop return £3.80, up to four children aged 5 to 15 travel for £1 each with a paying adult, and parking is free for up to 18 hours. A ticket only works at the site you bought it at.
Collections in Cambridge are set per address, not per street, so a town-wide calendar was never going to be right. The new tool asks for a postcode, lists the addresses on it, and reads that address's real dates from Greater Cambridge Shared Waste's own service — blue, black and green, with the council's own words for what goes in each. You can also ask for an email the evening before. This one had been on the list since Cambridge went live in July and was marked blocked: we could not find a bin-day-by-postcode source we were allowed to read. It turns out Cambridge city addresses are answered by the South Cambridgeshire service, because Greater Cambridge Shared Waste is one shared service across both councils. Checked across CB1 to CB5 before shipping. Weekly food waste caddies are being rolled out across the city in phases through 2026. No caddy shows up in the dates yet; when your round starts, the council writes to you, and it will appear here.
