Cairo's services are split across separate bodies with their own phone lines — the governorate, the water regulator, the electricity network — not one city hall that handles everything. These are the numbers residents actually need, checked against each body's own page where one is reachable.
Water cuts: check before you believe a rumour
Central Operations Room
24-hour line for problems with city services — roads, street lighting, uncollected rubbish and similar. 114 reaches the same room.
Drinking-water faults and complaints
The water regulator EWRA's line for drinking-water problems — report to the water company first where you can, then use this to escalate.
Wastewater and sewage faults
EWRA's separate line for sewage and wastewater, distinct from drinking-water supply.
Electricity fault hotline
The number used nationwide to report power faults and outages. We could not find an EEHC page publishing it, but it is consistently listed by Egyptian citizen-service directories as the unified line.
Tourist and Antiquities Police
A separate force for problems at tourist sites, with a guide, or with a vendor.
