Alor Setar spans two districts — Kota Setar and Pokok Sena — and JAKIM puts both in zone KDH01, along with Kubang Pasu. So there is no part of the city on a different set of times, and no need to work out which zone you are in.
JAKIM sets imsak exactly ten minutes ahead of Subuh, every day of the year — it is a margin for finishing sahur, not a separate prayer. Subuh itself is the time that matters for the fast and the prayer.
If you are travelling, the times change at the district line rather than gradually: Pendang, Yan and Kuala Muda are KDH02; Sik and Padang Terap are KDH03; Baling is KDH04; Kulim and Bandar Baharu are KDH05; Langkawi is KDH06. The differences are a few minutes, but they are the published ones.
