Taiping's documented flood spots and the relief centres that open, from the 2022–2026 record — plus who to call.

Taiping takes 3,200–4,000 mm of rain a year against a peninsular norm of 2,000–2,500, and when it floods it is almost never the heritage core — it is the same handful of kampungs and roads, and the same schools, mosques and suraus open as relief centres. This is that record, in one place.

Kampung Simpang Halt
In September 2023 about two hours of continuous rain put 57 people into the community hall here. The hall is one of the centres that opens repeatedly, so the village is both a flood spot and a place people are brought to.
Kampung Changkat Ibol
Masjid Changkat Ibol was one of five relief centres opened in November 2022, when 274 people were evacuated across the district after flash flooding.
Bendang Siam (Batu 8)
Masjid Batu 8 Bendang Siam was another of the five centres opened in November 2022. The pin is Jalan Hulu Batas Bendang Siam, the road through the area.
North–South Expressway at the Taiping R&R (southbound)
Closed by flash flooding on 24 October 2025, with lanes towards Changkat Jering also affected. The expressway is the route most people would use to leave, so it is worth knowing it can go under too.
Jalan Trong
The road along which Kampung Batu 25 was evacuated in June 2026. Continuous rain is the trigger rather than a river rising.
Use this first if anyone is in danger.

Jalan Trong, towards Batu 25
In June 2026, 26 residents were evacuated from Kampung Batu 25 on Jalan Trong after continuous rain — the most recent episode on record. The pin is Trong itself; Batu 25 is along the road between here and Taiping.
