This still hasn’t loaded. It looks stuck rather than slow, so reloading is worth a try now.
Town Tools builds free, public tools for Piran and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.

Open nowLekarna Piran · closes at 10:00

The Piran pharmacy shuts for half an hour at 10:00 every day it opens, and again at 16:00 from Monday to Friday. Lucija's pharmacy works straight through, and Koper's is the only one open at night and on Sundays.
Two family-medicine practices remain in the old town, and between them they cover mornings and one late evening each. Everything else — paediatrics, dentistry, the laboratory, specialist clinics and out-of-hours care — is in Lucija. Both practices break for half an hour at 10:00, and at 16:30 on their late day. They also post one-off closures as plain notices with no feed behind them, so ring before a walk you cannot repeat.

There is no dentist for adults in the old town. Two more adult practices sit at the same Lucija address — Vesna Škorja Sorič, 041 630 507 — and ČOK DENTAL is at Obala 114 in Lucija; between them and the two below, some surgery is open every weekday morning and afternoon.

Children's and youth dentistry. It is in Piran but up on the ridge above the walled town — a climb, not a flat walk.
Open nowParcel locker 6711 Piran · open right through
⌄
The counter is weekdays only — it does not open on Saturday. The parcel locker at the same address is there at any hour, every day, and is the only postal thing in the old town on a Sunday. The counter also does currency exchange and is a local registration office.
No supermarket opens on a Sunday anywhere in the municipality, and that is national law rather than a local habit: the Trade Act forbids Sunday trading, with exceptions for shops under 200 m² at filling stations, bus and railway stations, ports, airports and hospitals, and for shops that small where the owner works the day themselves. Both shops below open at six in the morning and both open on Saturday.
Open nowIntesa Sanpaolo cash machine · open right through
⌄
Four cash machines are on the map in the old town: Intesa Sanpaolo on Tartini Square, NLB on Cankarjevo nabrežje, and a Euronet machine at each end of the peninsula. A staffed counter is a different matter — the business register lists two Intesa Sanpaolo units in Lucija and none in Piran, and the bank's own notices treat Piran as a cash-machine location, but the bank has not said either way in anything we could read. For counter business short of a bank, the post office does currency exchange.

Confirmed working: the bank's own outage notice names other machines and sends customers to this one.
An EMK Piran card costs €3.50, and one card can pay for several passengers — tell the driver how many rides to take off it. The machines give no change: anything over €3.50 goes onto the card as credit. The driver takes no cash at all.

The free ride is not automatic and it does not last: the right runs for one year from the day it is activated and then has to be renewed, in person, with an ID document. And Okolje Piran says in writing that the national free pensioner ticket — the one that covers interurban buses and regional trains across Slovenia — does not apply to the Piran minibus.

Okolje Piran permit office
Activates the free minibus right and issues parking permits for Piran town and the Arze garage. Three days a week, mornings only — and it breaks from 10:00 to 10:30.

Pick the errand. The page says whether you can do it here in the old town, whether the door is open at this minute, and — when it has moved out of town — where it went, how you get there and what the ride costs.
The ways out of town
Most of what a week needs has moved out of the old town to Lucija, three kilometres round the bay — the health centre, the laboratory, the dentist, the staffed bank counter, the staffed bus-ticket office. Getting to any of them costs a fare. Slovenia's free bus pass for pensioners and over-65s covers every interurban bus and regional train in the country and the city buses of nine Slovenian towns, and it does not cover Piran's. In a town where more than a quarter of residents are 65 or over, that makes each of these errands a euro or two, each way.
The Piran minibus
Fare, one way
€1.00
Who pays less
Free for anyone with permanent residence in the Municipality of Piran, for holders of an Okolje Piran parking permit for Piran town, the Fornače car park or the Arze garage, for disabled passengers plus one companion, and for children under 12.
The free right has to be activated in person with an ID document and lasts one year, then has to be renewed. No cash on board — card or app only. An EMK Piran card costs €3.50. Okolje Piran publishes departure times but no journey time; pairing its own departures end to end puts the Tartinijev trg–Fornače run at about six minutes.
The counter is open 07:30–19:00 on weekdays, 07:30–13:00 on Saturday and 08:00–12:00 on Sunday; outside those hours the same building runs the coast's on-duty service, so somebody answers around the clock.
Took over Dr Kristina Babič's patients on 28 October 2026. Late surgery on Monday. To register with her, go in person with your health card during surgery hours, or to the Lucija information desk on a weekday morning.
Where the coast's urgent care goes between 20:00 and 07:00, and all day on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays. Children are seen at the start of corridor B from 08:00 to 18:00 on those days, and in the general surgery otherwise.
Okolje Piran keeps three counters on three different timetables with three different midday breaks — the cash desk at Arze, the Piran permit office on Dantejeva, and a third window for permits in Portorož, Lucija, Seča, Fiesa and Strunjan. Check which one you need before you walk.

Trafika 3DVA
A staffed counter for EMK cards and top-ups, named by Okolje Piran as a sales point.
We will not print hours for this one: the two sources we have disagree about Sunday, and it is the only staffed option in the old town on a Sunday. Look at the door, or ring Okolje Piran on 05 617 50 00.

Saturday is the one day we will not put a time against. The library's own page shows Saturday as closed for a holiday, which is not a weekly rule, and the map data disagrees with the library about the whole week — so ring 05 6710 872 before a Saturday walk.
