On-street parking in Kaunas is split into zones. Each zone has its own price and its own hours, and two of them are charged day and night. This page shows what each zone costs, whether you have to pay in it right now, and what a stay of any length will come to.

When parking is free
Outside the hours listed for each zone, parking in that zone is free — nothing to pay and nothing to display. Parkavimas Kaune also states that no fee is charged on Lithuanian public holidays or during Kaunas City Day, the city’s birthday celebration in May. It does not publish the dates those cover, and the city birthday moves each year, so this page does not list them: on a holiday, check the machine or the sign before you decide not to pay.
The short code next to each zone name above (KS, KG, KR, KM, KZ, KMS, KP) is the one to choose in the app or type in the text message. Žalia Balta has no code — pay at the machine there.
Good to know
The prices here follow the machines. Where a shorter step is posted, the machine sells it: 12 minutes in the Yellow zone, 15 in the Red, 30 in the Blue and Blue.S. In the Old Town, Green, Beach and Žalia Balta zones no shorter step is posted, so the machine sells whole hours — this page therefore rounds a short stay up to an hour there. The apps and the text-message service bill in 12-minute steps in every zone, so a short stay can work out cheaper by phone. Permits, if you park in the same place often: a resident permit is €50 a year, and a permit for a fully electric car costs nothing. A year in one zone is €150 Green, €360 Blue, €500 Red, €700 Yellow; all zones together are €1,200 a year, €350 for 90 days or €150 for 30 days. If you take the train, the lot at M. K. Čiurlionio g. 14 is €20 for 30 days or €60 for 90 days if you hold matching train tickets. Permits are arranged by Parkavimas Kaune, Puodžių g. 24-1, +370 687 80601, info@parkavimaskaune.lt.
