Genoa is a city on its side: about 30 km of coast and barely a kilometre deep, with the hill neighbourhoods above the circonvallazione a monte reached by creuze — the narrow walled lanes, often stepped, that climb between them — or by machine. AMT runs 14 ascensori (public lifts, one of them the inclined plant at Quezzi), two funicolari and the Granarolo cremagliera. This page lists every one: what it connects, the climb it saves you, the hours AMT publishes, and which ticket is valid on it.
This page is not a live status board
It lists every plant and the hours AMT publishes. Nothing here checks whether a cabin is moving right now, and published hours do not mean a plant is running today.
The one channel that answers “is it running right now” is App AMT. Install it and turn on notifications in the settings, choosing the service types you use. AMT says that is where it announces changes to the ascensori and the funicolari.
Ascensore di via Mura degli Angeli — Reported out of service
Liguria Notizie reported this lift out of service from 27 May 2026, and still stopped on 2 June, describing the quarter above via Dino Col as isolated. AMT has published no announcement of it: its most recent news post about this plant is a three-hour maintenance closure on 17 March 2026. We cannot tell you which of these is true today, and we will not guess — check the App AMT service notifications before you rely on this lift.
The operator’s own page says: AMT's lifts page still lists this plant with its normal hours — weekdays 6.10–21.30, Sundays and public holidays 7.55–21.15 — and shows no closure notice.

Riding a lift or a funicolare is not free any more. AMT's free travel for residents of the Città metropolitana on the metro and the impianti verticali — the MIV title, in force since 15 January 2024 — was confirmed to expire on 31 October 2025, and the new tariffs took effect on Monday 17 November 2025. If you have been boarding on the old rule, you now need a ticket.
A single ride on any lift or on the Sant'Anna funicolare costs €1.20. That ticket does not cover the Zecca – Righi funicolare or the Granarolo cremagliera, which need an ordinary €2.00 network ticket. Residents of the Città metropolitana who use the lifts regularly can buy the Linee periferiche e Ascensori annual pass at €160 — again, valid on the lifts and Sant'Anna, but not on Zecca – Righi or the cremagliera.

The €1.20 single and the €160 Linee periferiche e Ascensori annual pass are valid here — and only here. Neither covers the Zecca – Righi funicolare or the Granarolo cremagliera.

The comune runs about 30 km along the coast and barely a kilometre inland. Above the circonvallazione a monte the alternative to a lift is usually a creuza — a narrow walled lane, often stepped. Genoa's age structure is unusually old: roughly 275 residents aged 65 and over for every 100 aged under 15. For a lot of people here the lift is not a shortcut, it is the way home, which is why the local press can write that a quartiere is isolated when one breaks.
It is also why this page will not guess. Telling someone a lift is working when it is not sends them to a stepped alley they may not be able to climb.
We looked for one. AMT publishes no machine-readable status for these plants: there is no GTFS-realtime and no SIRI feed for AMT anywhere, including the national open-data access point, and the open-data and GTFS links on AMT's own site redirect away. The news feed on amt.genova.it is real, but it demonstrably misses long outages — the via Dino Col plant above has no 2026 post at all, while the press was reporting it stopped for weeks. A page built on that feed could say that something had been announced broken; it could never say that a plant is running.
So this is a list of plants and published hours, kept dated, plus the one channel that does answer the question. A green light we could not stand behind would be worse than no light at all.

Ascensore Cantore – Scassi — Closed by the operator
AMT's own lifts page carries a standing notice that the Cantore – Scassi lift is closed. The notice gives no reopening date.
Instead: AMT says the HS replacement bus is running in its place.

Funicolare Sant'Anna — Closed by the operator
Closed from Monday 13 July 2026 for the revisione quinquennale — the five-yearly overhaul the law requires — covering the brake units, wheels, rope group and emergency-brake controls. AMT estimated the work at about two and a half months, ending with test runs and the ministry's clearance to reopen.
Instead: AMT points people to the Castelletto Levante lift or bus line 36. Since Monday 27 July the annual Linee periferiche e Ascensori pass has been valid on line 36, until the funicolare reopens.

The €1.20 lift ticket and the €160 Linee periferiche e Ascensori annual pass are not valid on these two. They need an ordinary network ticket.
