Belleville joins with three tools grounded in what residents actually ask. 'Moira River Level' reads the Water Survey of Canada gauge at Foxboro live — level and flow — with Quinte Conservation's flood messages explained for freshet season. 'Getting Care Without a Family Doctor' is the honest pathway for the ~15,000 people without one: Health Care Connect, the 28 conditions pharmacists can now treat, Health811, the clinics that still see walk-ins, and the ER. 'Garbage, Recycling & Bag Tags' answers the weekly rules — the .50 tag on every bag, two-stream recycling, and who to call when a pickup is missed.
The City of Kings joins with three tools built around the question the city asks every day: water. 'Is the Water On?' carries the current 72-hour shedding programme and a neighbour board where residents confirm the water is back in their area; 'Dam Levels' tracks council's published Dam Watch figures — and why full dams don't guarantee water; 'Where Things Stand' keeps plain, dated status on shedding, ZESA load-shedding (paused for ~188 days), Egodini and the Gwayi-Shangani pipeline. Every number carries the date it was published; council's own channels are linked throughout.
Banff's town page now opens with a sketch of the Bow River curving past the townsite beneath Cascade Mountain's tiered rock face.
Norwich's town page now opens with a sketch of the market's candy-striped stall roofs, the old Lanes, and the River Wensum bending past behind them.
Khiam's town page now opens with a sketch of the stone-walled olive terraces stepping down the hillside above the Marjeyoun plain — the town's oldest livelihood.
A bus that runs a different Saturday sheet — or doesn't run on weekends at all — now renders honestly: the page leads with today's times and never promises tomorrow's bus on a day it doesn't run.
A new provider for Canadian towns, under the Open Government Licence – Canada. In the same 30-day window around Tofino the US feed showed 1 earthquake where Canada's showed 73 — Canadian coast towns now get the honest picture.
The next bus to Landsborough station or Nambour from Maple Street at Cooke Park, with the weekend timetable handled properly, the fares explained, and the train connection at Landsborough. Times come from Translink's printed timetable and were checked against their live departures.
The Queensland Fire Department's own home-preparation steps, arranged highest-impact first — embers before everything — with Maleny's one-road-down-the-range reality and the official channels. The season on this side of the range starts around August.
What's open, restricted or closed in the Long Beach Unit — the trails, Green Point, the dog rules south of Green Point and this year's passes — checked against Parks Canada's bulletins, which stay the live authority.
Every quake recorded near Tofino lately, from Earthquakes Canada, with the Cascadia story and what to do when the shaking is long or strong. We read the Canadian feed because it sees dozens of small offshore quakes the US feed misses.
The weather-warnings tool gained its tenth national service: South African Weather Service alerts, read from the World Meteorological Organization's public mirror and filtered to each town by the warning's own map area. First used in Soweto.
Two neighbour boards — where the taps are dry and where the power is out, by township, with Johannesburg Water's and Eskom's real channels beside them. A contact router for the Eskom/Joburg Water/Pikitup/city runaround, including how to buy prepaid electricity safely. A getting-around guide covering the taxis, the Naledi train line, Rea Vaya and PUTCO after the 2026 fare increases. And live South African Weather Service warnings ahead of the Klipspruit flood season.
Your device now keeps a saved copy of every page you open on this site. If the connection drops — a power cut, a dead zone, data running out — the pages you've already visited still open, with a clear note that what you're seeing was saved earlier and may be out of date. Nothing changes while you're online: pages always come fresh from the network first. Emergency contact lists and outage boards are the pages people here open most, and those are exactly the ones you need when the network is down.
It went live without the code that reads the data, so the page could never show anything. Bulawayo's water story deserves a working page — it is on the list to rebuild properly.
A new tool kind explains informal transport — minibus corridors, moto-taxis, negotiated fares — for towns with no formal transit, first used in Verón–Punta Cana. The weather-warnings tool also gained GeoSphere Austria as its ninth national provider.
The Stefanie ferry mid-crossing on the lake — the village's everyday lifeline to the railway on the far shore.
Thunderstorms, heavy rain, snow, ice and heat for the Gemeinde, read straight from GeoSphere Austria and refreshed every few minutes — with the wind right now and where official local alerts actually come from. Pinned between the crowd outlook and the lake level.

Ten research notes covering the Eskom prepaid-meter dispute and load reduction, water outages and tanker distrust, taxis, Rea Vaya and the restored Naledi train line, illegal dumping, and where residents get local information. This groundwork shapes which tools we build first.
Ten research notes covering the water-shedding cycles and borehole queues, ZESA power cuts, the city's industrial past and present, its festivals and football, and where residents get local information. This groundwork shapes which tools we build first.
Ten research notes covering who lives here, the downtown homelessness emergency, the family-doctor shortage, garbage bag tags and transit, spring flooding on the Moira River, and where residents get their news. This groundwork shapes which tools we build first.

Tick off what you've done and see the highest-impact steps next — deciding your Fire Danger Rating trigger to leave early, clearing gutters and ember-proofing gaps — with the CFA channels and Beechworth's Neighbourhood Safer Place.
When pinned to a town page, the attraction-tickets and pass-picker tools now show the headline price at a glance — the recommended entry ticket, and the cheapest pass that covers the town — instead of a plain card.

Two reusable tool kinds went live this week. One maps a town's public staircases and its signature stair climb from OpenStreetMap data — built first for Bisbee, Arizona. The other reads a river's live flow against published paddling bands for towns on a popular canoe run, and defers the 'river closed' call to the official flood service — built first for Český Krumlov on the Vltava. A third change let the water-bill estimator serve towns where a private company bills the water and the city bills sewer on a separate bill.
The Vltava through Český Krumlov is one of the most-paddled rivers in the country. This new tool reads the live flow at the Vyšší Brod gauge — the one local boat operators watch — and places it against the range they consider runnable: too low and you scrape the gravel, too high and it's for experienced paddlers only. When the river reaches a flood degree it is closed, and that call rests with the hydrological service and the town flood commission, both linked here. The flow is the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute's open data.
Water in Bisbee comes from the Arizona Water Company, a private utility — not the City — so it isn't always clear how the bill is put together. This tool estimates it from how much water you use in a month, at the company's current published rates: the base charge, the tiered rates, and the two monthly surcharges. Sewer and trash come on a separate City bill, so they aren't included, and the estimate is shown before tax.
Bisbee is a town built on stairs. This new tool maps the nine public staircases of the Bisbee 1000 — the Great Stair Climb held each October — with the step count of each and the total for the whole 4.5-mile loop, about 1,025 steps up the canyon. The staircase locations come from OpenStreetMap. It's there year-round, whether you're training for the climb or just working out which way is up.
Finding a park is the thing people in Hahndorf mention most, especially on weekends and in the school holidays. This new guide shows where the car parks are and which one to head for when Main Street fills up: the big free car park by the oval at the Verdun end, the central car park behind the shops by the Academy, and the Auricht Road car park that doubles as the tour-bus park. Parking here is free — no meters, no app — though the on-street spaces are time-limited, so check the signs. It also points to the accessible bays and the public toilets, and says who to ask about a fine.
Mahone Bay runs its own electric utility, so when the power goes out here it's the Town you call, not Nova Scotia Power — and there is no live outage map. This new board lets neighbours answer the question everyone asks first: is it just my house, or the whole area? Tap the part of town you're in — Main Street, Edgewater Street, Kinburn, Hawthorn Road or Maders Cove — to report that your power is out, and see where else people are reporting the same. Reports clear themselves after a few hours, so the board keeps up on its own. It always shows the Town's fault line (902-624-8327, after-hours 902-543-3251); it is neighbours checking in with each other, not a channel to the utility.
On a warm weekend the old-town garages fill and cars end up circling the Kornmarkt and Karlsplatz entrances. A new live board shows how many spaces each of the city's public Parkhäuser reports free right now — most room first, with the Altstadt garages grouped together — straight from the city's own sensors, updated every few minutes. When a garage's sensor is faulting or hasn't reported recently it says so, rather than showing a misleading 'full' or 'empty'.
On this coast a Cascadia earthquake is its own warning — the first waves can arrive before any alert could. A new tool lets you type an address and see whether Oregon's worst-case model floods that spot, how deep, and roughly how many minutes it gives, using the state's official DOGAMI inundation maps. It never says an address is 'safe' and never saves what you type: the standing advice is to walk to high ground the moment a quake is long or strong, wherever you are. It sits alongside the existing 'Tsunami: What to Do' guide.
We can now build two things for towns that need them. The first shows how many spaces are free right now in a city's public parking garages, straight from the city's own sensors, and is honest when a sensor is faulty rather than guessing. The second lets you type an address on a tsunami-prone coast and see whether it falls inside the official modeled inundation zone, how deep the water is modeled to get, and how little time it gives — without ever storing the address. First used in Heidelberg and Astoria; reusable elsewhere.
A new tool kind for places where getting in is the hard part — a single road, a lake crossing, a coach-booking system. Readers pick how they're travelling and see only their plan; with no JavaScript, every mode still shows. First used for Hallstatt.
Pick how you're coming — train and ferry, car, coach, or regional bus — and get just that plan: where to park (P1–P4), how the Stefanie ferry meets the trains, and the coach slot-booking rules. It defers the exact seasonal times and prices to the operators.
