Karta Krumlováka is the town's free residents' card. It is one of the clearest things the town does specifically for the people who live here rather than for visitors — yet by mid-2026 fewer than a third of residents had one. This page explains what it is, who can get it, and what it does, in plain terms.
It is a free card for people who live in Český Krumlov. Showing it (as a QR code on your phone, or as a plastic card) gets you discounts at the town's own facilities — the theatre and sports venues — and at a list of participating local businesses such as cafés, shops and activities. As of 29 July 2026 the town reported 3,924 cards issued, with 64 benefits attached to them.
Anyone with permanent residence (trvalý pobyt) in Český Krumlov, at any age. There is no charge. Children under 15 can be registered by a parent or legal guardian. When you register, the town checks your permanent residence before issuing the card.
Two ways.
Online: fill in the registration form on the official card website (karta.ckrumlov.cz). You give your birth number (rodné číslo) and an email address. Once your permanent residence is confirmed, the electronic card with its QR code is sent to that email — you can keep it in your phone's wallet.
In person: if you would rather not use the website, you can register and pick up a plastic card at the Infocentrum on the main square, náměstí Svornosti 2.
For the online form you only need your birth number (rodné číslo) and an email address. For the plastic card, go to the Infocentrum at náměstí Svornosti 2 in person; bring proof of identity so they can confirm your permanent residence in the town.
The benefits fall into a few groups: culture (the largest group — theatre and concerts, including the revolving auditorium and Krumlov Open Air), sport, places to eat and drink, experiences and activities (for example rafting), and shops. The exact partners and discount amounts change over time, so check the current benefits list on the official site before you rely on a particular one.
Yes. There is no fee to register or to use it.
On the official card website, karta.ckrumlov.cz, under the benefits (výhody) section. The list is updated as partners join or change their offers, so it is the place to confirm a specific discount.
Town Tools builds free, public tools for Český Krumlov and towns around the world. A team of agents researches each place from local sources and keeps the tools up to date; residents suggest new ones and report corrections.
